Notes from the GM
Update: Monday, February 8 at 7:45am:
Congrats to WHO DAT nation on a big win last night! The Saints played a great game, and certainly deserve the title. The Colts had an amazing season as well, and it was nice to enjoy a well-played game. Thanks for all those whom made it out to enjoy our Super Sunday specials at the tube hill as well as up at Joe Rider's last night...and thanks to our wonderful "hostess" and her little "helpers" (and big helper--JM!!) last night...everyone enjoyed the goodies and the good times!
And speaking of good times....let the GOOD TIMES roll! What an absolutely amazing weekend...incredible powder and packed powder snow conditions provided some of the best skiing & riding of the entire winter season! The tube hill was a little "slower than usual" out of the gate on Saturday, but it didn't take long for members of the mountain ops team to get the lanes "slicked-up" and smokin' quick as we have become accustomed to all throughout this season...the tubes were flyin' down the hill all weekend long, and we thank all of YOU for coming out to the BLAST! Hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as we did, and....
Well, the wonderful winter continues with another great week of great weather and it appears we could see another significant snowfall (forecasts now show like 3"-5" during the day on Tuesday---but others are doubling those numbers!) beginning later in the morning hours of Tuesday...hard to believe things could get any better than they have been around the resorts, but this week looks to continue the GOOD TIMES....so, we're looking at a wonderful week and perhaps even a better weekend. Speaking of the weekend...first off, the upcoming weekend is President's Weekend, so we do have some extended hours for you to enjoy a little more skiing, riding and tubing. Secondly, it is Red Bull Weekend...the RustBelt Event on Friday evening and then the ButterCup on Sunday...check the website for more details, but we're pretty pumped to be involved with what should be some great comps/events. Third...the snow conditions on the slopes and the tube chutes is going to be premo! Enough said...
Back to today...another CHOICE day for some skiing and riding. We're looking at mainly sunny skies throughout the day with highs in the upper 20s. The snow groomed out exceptionally well overnight, and we have an awesome machine groomed packed powder surface (still a few 'freshies' along the trail edges and in some of the trees)...the slopes will be mighty enjoyable today, so I recommend you make it out if at all possible.
The terrain parks are in great condition as well. The POW DAY made a little more work in getting the parks dialed-back in, but the park crew members and groomers did a real nice job making it happen. Expect a few more additions/installs in The Park this week, and we want to finish a couple efforts in the Prog Park, too. Pride Park is stylin, and we will be looking at some expansion there at some point next week. Check the Park Page for all info, but things are good in the terrain park scene here at BMBW...just ask anyone, and they will fill you in!
About it for today...thanks again for a nice weekend, and get ready for another wonderful week of absolutely great snow conditions. Things are really good, and I think they just may get even better as we enter this second week of February 2010!
Think Snow...Enjoy!

Update: Sunday, February 7 at 7:45am:
Another beautiful winter morning here at BMBW. We're looking at AWESOME PACKED POWDER SNOW for our skiing & riding guests today, and the tube hill is providing some absolutely incredible slides for all snow tubers to enjoy. Today is truly one of those CHOICE days to hit the SNOW...come on out and enjoy!
That snowstorm Friday night into Saturday morning ended up giving us double-digit snowfall totals. A bit of a hectic morning as everyone had to "dig out", but what a day we had on the slopes as the sun stayed with us most of the late-morning & afternoon hours...we were quite happy so many of you were able to join us for the awesome snow conditions at both the resorts as well as the tube hill. If you were not able to get out Saturday, well, today is YOUR DAY.
We received a few flurries (mainly a light dusting) overnight, and the slopes are pristine with a wonderful machine groomed packed powder surface. Forecasts today project mostly cloudy skies with highs in the mid 20s.
In celebration of Super Bowl Sunday, we do have a few specials here today and then a little party this evening over at Joe Riders. Come on out to the tube hill by 1pm dressed in some sort of NFL gear, and we'll give you an extra hour of snow-tubing free of charge...and, we'll also enter you into a drawing for some various giveaways! Our Sunday Super Saver special on the slopes is also in effect today at both Boston Mills & Brandywine. Super Sunday is here...and we have tons of fresh snow for your enjoyment.
About all I got this morning...leaving the below posts up if you wish to view any additional details from the past few days.
It's another BIG-TIME SNOW DAY...so, I will see YOU on the SNOW!
The GOOD TIMES are here!

Update: 9:45....We're looking at total natural snow accumulations of 10" since the early evening hours on Friday....wonderful powder and packed powder snow conditions on the slopes! The tube hill is being worked as I type, and we're going to slick them up for some crazy snow-tubing fun here today! It is truly an AWESOME SNOW DAY...come and get it!
Update: Saturday, February 6 at 7:00am:
You know it's going to be an incredible SNOW DAY when the snow-cats are working in the parking lots!
Let it SNOW, and SNOW it DID! We're looking at 8" of new natural snow here this morning...the snow began falling late yesterday afternoon with flurries and continued falling all throughout the evening and intensified during the overnight hours! It's truly a POWDER DAY here at BMBW!
It appears we will see a little bit more snow this morning (nothing crazy, but maybe another inch of accumulation), but the snow should end around the late-morning. Understood some of you to the south have received a solid FOOT, so take your time and allow the trucks to hit those roads to clean em' up a bit...all this snow will still be here when you arrive!
Due to all the snow, we will be doing some final slope preparations throughout the morning hours...we will do a bit more selective grooming on our beginner terrain and may have to groom the terrain parks later as well. There may be some limited staggered slope/park openings this morning...and we may have to shut a slope/park down for a short time to groom at various points today....but, the bottom-line is we just got dumped on with EIGHT INCHES of POWDER, so it's going to be an awesome day to hit the slopes...enjoy as these don't necessarily come around all that often!
As for the tube hill, well, the good news is that our tubing chutes are "rock solid" underneath all this natural snow. We will be working to remove the powder and get the lanes dialed-in for another great day of snow-tubing. Expect the lanes to be fairly quick when we roll at 10am, but they will certainly be a little faster tonight for our EXTREME TUBING session! Always a fun time at Polar Blast...come on out today and experience the BLAST!
About all I got for now...gotta head back to the plow truck and then to the cat and then to the slopes where I will see YOU here later this morning!
GOT SNOW? Oh YEAH...enjoy the day folks cause it's a SUPER SNOW DAY!

Update: Friday, February 5 at 9:00am:
We are looking at a fabulous weekend ahead of us. There appears to be several chances of natural snow throughout the weekend (this incoming winter storm could potentially drop 4"-6" on us by later on Saturday if those winds blow the right way...LET IT SNOW!!), and temps should be ideal for skiing and riding (mainly looking at day-time temps in the mid 20s and overnight temps in the teens). Expect this to be one of our best overall skiing weekends of the season, and as many of you truly know, we've had some really good snow days all season long...so, you gotta trust me when I say that the weekend ahead is going to be AWESOME. Our significant snow base is measured in multiple FEET...our snow surface is an incredible version of packed powder...and the weather will be ideal....just doesn't get much better than that! Make your plans now for a SNOW DAY (or hopefully several!) for the weekend.
Be sure and check out our calendar of events for Military Night tonight at Brandywine. This is just a small way we can participate in helping thank our men and women serving to keep us safe. A special thanks to Scion for partnering with BMBW for this event.
We will be snow-tubing all weekend long beginning at 5pm this evening. Our extreme tubing sessions on Friday and Saturday evenings from 8pm - 12 midnight (ticket goes on sale at 7:45 pm) are certainly becoming quite popular, and for good reason! The tubing chutes have been smokin' fast these past few weekends, and you can expect more of the same this weekend. Polar Blast was built for folks of all ages and we have constructed our lanes to be "mild" as well as "wild". It's always a GOOD TIME at Polar Blast. Grab the family or some friends and hit the tube hill for an amazing experience. Check out the upcoming Sunday morning special listed on our calendar of events! Bring the family for some extended tubing fun and then join us Sunday evening at Joe Rider's (Boston Mills) to watch your favorite team win the Super Bowl. Will it be the Colts or the Saints???
I have to get back in the groomer here shortly, but will update the blog a little later today. Make it a snow day and will see you on the SNOW........

Update: Thursday, February 4 at 7:15am:
We're looking at another AMAZING snow day here at the resorts for Thursday. Ma Nature dropped about an inch of natural on Wednesday...you add this to our already wonderful packed powder on the slopes, and we're looking at most excellent conditions for today. Forecasts today show mostly SUNNY skies with temps in the low/mid 30s...practically a PERFECT day to hit the slopes...hope you can join us!
The snow-cats did their thing overnight to lay out some fantastic machine groomed packed powder which is going to be exceptionally fun today. A "well done" is certainly in order for all members of the grooming and mountain ops staff as we continue to provide some premo conditions on the slopes of BM and BW!
The mid-range forecasts look great these next many days as we roll towards the weekend...we see chances of a fairly nice snow-storm brewing (like potentially 3"-5" from noon Friday to noon Saturday!)...cold and snowy is always welcome here! So, make sure you don't miss out on all the SNOW FUN to be had this coming weekend!
Kinda of "lazy" here this morning with my update (actually, just a little busy to help with some final touch-ups on the slopes before I get my skis strapped on for opening!), so I leave the posts below which have a bit more detail of all upcoming activities here at the resorts. Make sure to check the calendar for all info and details.
Bottom-Line...we're entering into a CRAZY FUN weekend of skiing, riding and snow-tubing. The slopes are well stocked with an average of 2 to 5 FEET of the wonderful white stuff...the snow surface is an absolutely awesome packed powder...the terrain parks are simply incredible with options of all sorts for the advanced and novice riders/skiers...and, the tube hill will be rockin' and rollin' again this weekend as our chutes are providing some of the best tubing conditions EVER over at Polar Blast. Make your plans now for a SNOW DAY this weekend....we guarantee it will be one to remember!
Have a good one!

Update: Wednesday at 8pm:
Another AMAZING day here at the resorts. We actually got a little more of the natural than originally anticipated earlier this morning...we'll call it a good INCH...add this to our already wonderful packed powder, and YES, it was a great day to hit the slopes! Hope you enjoyed the snow as much as many of us did!
We're looking at mostly sunny skies tomorrow with highs in the mid 30s, so grab those boards (and don't forget the sunscreen) and head on out for yet another big-time SNOW DAY!
I neglected one update earlier...with regards to Tiger, we are going to let it bump-up, but not just yet. An oversight on my part regarding a scheduled race February 13th, so we will continue grooming the slope and will then let you all start bumping-it-up thereafter. Plans at this time will be for a BUMP COMP later in February during our Hope on the Slopes event!
About it for now...we'll see YOU on the slopes tomorrow! Grab that sunscreen and enjoy all the wonderful "white"!

PS...I've been asked to keep the below up for a little longer, so here it shall remain!!
Kiddo Update:
Here is a photo of ERR from last week's Tiny Tots session...she is quite the cutie, eh! She is becoming quite the little "snow bunny" and working hard on those "pizzas & french fries"! Her mommy and I are quite proud of her progressions thus far on her skiing, and I cannot say enough about our wonderful snow-sports instructors and the awesome Kid's Academy programs we have here at the resorts. The snow-sports school does a fantastic job with their many efforts, and we sure are fortunate to have such a qualified, dedicated and skilled group of instructors! Keep up the good work, Sissy, and most of all...keep having FUN and enjoy all the wondeful SNOW!
As for JBR, he is doing great as well. Don't have any recent "snow" shots of the little man, but he'll be on the slopes here in the next few days...so, we'll try to snap one and post accordingly. He is pretty pumped to have the return of cold and snowy weather...his shovel is dusted off, and he is awaiting more natural to get "back to work" (as he calls it!). He is doing great in his school efforts, and becoming quite the "Jedi" on his DS and Wii!! And...J had the opportunity to attend his FIRST Cavaliers' game last night against the T-Wolves. A nice win for the Cavs, and a big time for both he and I. Thanks to our friends at House of La Rose for the awesome tickets, and below are a couple of photos from last night. We had a great "boys' night" at the game, and obviously (as you can tell from the photos)...he really enjoyed his Dippin Dots while sporting his 'old school' Cavs' jersey! Nice choice on the new jersey, Buddy!
