Notes from the GM
Operations at Boston Mills, Brandywine and Polar Blast Snow-Tubing remain suspended until further notice. Upon viewing the most recent forecasts, things don't look good at all for the approaching weekend...the seriously warm temps both day and night, along with the potential of rain and possibly t-storms...not good. Perhaps once this "unpleasant" weather system moves through after the weekend, we will have a shot at resuming operations at some point next week/next weekend for some "bonus days" to properly finish-out what has been an awesome 09/10 Season....stay tuned!!
Update: Wednesday, March 10 at 7:45am:
Good Morning. As stated on the snow report and throughout the website, we will not be rolling today at Mills. Due to the mild temps and rains overnight as well as the warm temps we will see today, operations are suspended. It also appears we have much unseasonably warm and potentially inclement weather coming our way for the remainder of this week and upcoming weekend.
So, in all honesty, the rest of the week and upcoming weekend looks pretty questionable as for any skiing, snowboarding and/or snow-tubing. Obviously, we will continue to monitor the weather as it unfolds, but I foresee operations being suspended the remainder of this week and weekend. There is a chance we could provide a few "bonus" days at some point next week/next weekend and beyond if the weather changes or we get some natural snow (maybe one of those mid/late March "snow-storms" is in the cards?). We do have quite a bit of snow remaining out on the slopes, but we simply have to await and see how it all comes together with the weather at this point in time.
It has been an absolutely wonderful winter. We've had 88 awesome SNOW DAYS, and we certainly do hope to get a few more "bonus" days in at some point over the next couple of weeks...but again, time will only tell. We surely hope to provide some more opportunities for you to enjoy the slopes....we're anticipating the possibility of re-scheduling our "Carnival Day" at Mills as well as potentially our "Day in the Parks" at Brandywine, and perhaps even some final slides on the tube hill at some point, too!
Updates will be provided as they become available, so please check back accordingly and we will let you know the plans as soon as we know them.
I do want to thank all the staff members at the resorts for their many efforts and work throughout this season. Everyone did a very nice job to help us provide many, many GOOD TIMES all season long. I also want to thank YOU, our guests, for your continued patronage and support of Boston Mills, Brandywine and Polar Blast Snow-Tubing. This will certainly be a winter to remember for many, and we feel very blessed to have had such a fine season!
The weather was very kind to us in this 2009/10 season, and if all goes well, perhaps a few more 'bonus days" and "bonus events" will come back our way here soon. Until then, thanks again, and keep checking back with us as the weather unfolds and updates become available.
Have a good one, and stay tuned!

Kiddo Updates:
J Burton...helping Dad do a little "grooming" in the Big Red Snow-Cat last Sunday over at the tube hill!
"The Great Thinker"....not much to add here, except that we're both pretty pumped that J ponders so diligently when it comes to working on the "brain-games" as can see the intensity displayed in this here photo!
Here is one of our "Snow Princess" taking a break from her skiing to enjoy the Monster Truck show last month at the Q... taken during the National Anthem:
And one of JBR enjoying one of his favorite winter activities: Shoveling Snow! I'm telling you, his shoveling skills have reached an entirely new level this winter...and, he could easily be leading some of our training sessions for next year's crop of employees whether it be in snow removal or even shaping lift loads, unloads and freestyle trany's...."Shoveling 101 with J"!
PS: We've all learned to stand back when that snow starts flying, so if you all see him going...I urge you to do the same! Not only that, but I think he's picked up some pointers from a few of the park crew fellas, cause we've got front-side and back-side trany's popping up all over the front deck and outside of my office! Shovel ON, little man...Shovel ON! Classic!
