BMBW Kids Programs 07/08

Boston Mills/Brandywine offers several different lesson program options for kids: Tiny Tots (ages 3 & 4), Mogul Mites (ages 5-7) and Snow Squad (ages 8-12.) All three programs offer ski lessons, and Snow Squad members can opt to take snowboarding lessons instead.

General Lesson Program information applies to all three Kids Programs, and details on each individual program can be found below.

GENERAL LESSON PROGRAM INFORMATION

On-slope time is available before and/or after each scheduled lesson time for the duration of the program. Participants are not able to come out and ski or snowboard through these programs before the first scheduled lesson day. After the six weeks of lessons are complete, children who participate are welcome to visit BMBW on their scheduled day only for the remainder of the season to practice their skills at no additional cost as long as they wear their neck tag.

The child must take his or her lesson at the same time and resort for the entire six weeks. Supervision is not provided before or after the lessons. Make-up lessons are not available if a student is absent from a regularly scheduled class. However, if Boston Mills/Brandywine must cancel, a make-up lesson will be scheduled.

Program size is limited and reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. To buy your child's program at the Open House rate, you must either order online between October 12-14 or visit Boston Mills during Open House hours (Friday 12-8, Saturday 10-6, Sunday 10-6) on those dates. To purchase your program at the regular rates, provided there are spaces available, you can order online any time after Open House, or call or visit the Guest Services office at Boston Mills during preseason hours.

You must sign up for the program by 12/24/07 and proof of age may be required. The week of 12/24 you will receive a letter that explains where to meet and what to expect on your first lesson, along with your passcard/ticket.

TINY TOTS - AGES 3 & 4

Tiny Tots (Ages 3&4) introduces children to skiing basics including balance, turning and stopping under control. Lessons are taught by a staff of specially trained instructors and emphasize fun and safety. The program includes complimentary snow/lift tickets, rental equipment (if applicable) and one or two hours of lessons each week, depending on the child's age.

For 3-year-olds, the Tiny Tots lessons are held on Thursdays from 10am-11:15am. 4-year-olds have lessons from 12:30pm-2:30pm at Boston Mills on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Thursday lessons begin on 1/3/08 and Tuesday lessons begin on 1/8/08.

MOGUL MITES - AGES 5-7

Mogul Mites (ages 5-7) emphasizes skill building through fun and adventure. Lessons are taught by a staff of specially trained instructors and are open to all ability levels. The program includes snow/lift tickets, rental equipment (if applicable) and two hours of lessons each week.

Mogul Mites lessons are held at both Boston Mills and Brandywine. The Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon lessons run from 2pm-4pm. The Sunday morning lessons run from 9am-11am. Mogul Mites lessons start the weekend of 1/5/08-1/6/08.

SNOW SQUAD - AGES 8-12

Take on the slopes and master the snow! Snow Squad includes 6 weeks of lessons for all ability levels--from beginner skiers and snowboarders to those who want to learn the advanced techniques of freestyle, racing and all mountain riding. The program includes snow/lift tickets, rental equipment (if applicable) and two hours of lessons each week.

Snow Squad lessons are held at both resorts but snowboarding is only available at Brandywine. The Saturday and Sunday afternoon lessons run from 1:30pm-3:30pm. The Sunday morning lessons run from 9:30am-11:30am. Snow Squad lessons start the weekend of 1/5/08-1/6/08..
