Snow Tubing
Thank you for a great first season at Polar Blast snow tubing! As of Sunday, 3/16/08, Polar Blast is closed for the season. We look forward to seeing you back on the tubing chutes next winter!
Snow Tubing Basics:
Forget everything you knew about snow tubing at Brandywine... Polar Blast can feature up to 20 tube lanes and is over 3 football fields in length! 11 state-of-the-art SMI snowmaking fan guns have been installed, and two new conveyor lifts will take you effortlessly back up to the top for more--you simply step on and enjoy the ride.
Polar Blast will be open during certain hours Friday thru Sunday each weekend in March, as snow allows. It's always a good idea to check the Snow Report page to verify the hours for snow tubing on that day, before you head out to the tubing park.
There is no minimum age to snow tube, but every snow tuber must ride on his or her own tube. Tubers are allowed to go down the chutes together; the maximum number of tubers allowed in a chute at once depends on the conditions. Conditions and speed varies due to time of day (typically, evenings are colder and thus a little faster), temperature and other weather factors, traffic on the chutes, snowmaking and grooming, and other factors.
Where is Polar Blast?
To reach Polar Blast, head to Brandywine Ski Resort, take a right turn at the end of the driveway, and follow the signs to fun. The facilities at Polar Blast include a separate parking lot, a small ticket office building with restroom facilities, and a large outdoor tube pavilion. At the outdoor pavilion, snow tubers will pick up their tubes, observers can enjoy a great view of the tube hill and everyone can enjoy a special treat at our concession stand.
What to Wear:
Whether watching or sliding, you'll be in the outdoors so remember to dress warmly. The best way to dress for winter is to wear layers. The exterior protection layer of a shell and pants serves as your guard against the elements and should be waterproof. Cover your head--with a hat, hood or both--as this is where most of your body heat escapes. Keep your hands warm by wearing gloves (preferably waterproof) that fit well. Other essentials are warm socks and sunscreen. (Sunscreen isn't just for summer, you know.) Being prepared to be outside helps ensure that you will have the best time you can while you're out playing in the snow!
(Note: Downloading, printing and signing our Tubing Release of Liability Forms ahead of time will help save you time at the ticket windows.)
Snow Tubing Pricing:
The snow tubing ticket pricing below includes your access to the snow tubing chutes and the conveyor lift. Snow tubes are provided for you at the tubing hill.
(Note: 07/08 Pick-A-Day, Season and Summit Passes may substitute their snow/lift ticket privilege for a tubing session. 08/09 Summit Passes have a number of snow tubing tickets included, but their daily snow/lift ticket privilege is for skiing or riding only. See the Season Passes page for details.)
